Sorry for the delay, but I'm still not done with the rewrites for neither the Enemies nor Ultimate Evils. I hope I can get them finished before the end of summer. Until then, here's a rogues gallery for your temporary appeasement. Feel free to use my Enemies and Ultimate Evil images, but be sure to let me know when you do. Other notes: Names are derived from either common sense or Nintendo Power Issue 18 (with the great CVIII coverage and arts), which I'm grateful to have again, thanks to Luke Jones. Dracula chose these few, proud and evil creatures of the dark to stop Trevor at all costs. Each miserably failed. Yes! Welcome to the Ultimate Evil, or, as those dudes not CV3 connoisseurs call it, the BOSS Section! Here you'll find a list of every "boss" of Dracula's Curse, with pictures, info, and what they're like after the time Dracula's Curse takes place! This page has some graphics, not as many as the Enemies Section, so be patient and let the world of Ultimate Evils develop before your 9600-baud modem's eyes! NOTICE ON ULTIMATE EVIL NAMES: I'm sticking with Ultimate Evil names I've either made up or found in Nintendo Power magazines, since Symphony of the Night, which has its' own Enemy/Boss List, wasn't out at the same time as CastleVania III Dracula's Curse..

Skull Knight/Skull Knight KingThe Skull Knight is the first Ultimate Evil Trevor Belmont faces. Originally, Count Dracula had this giant armored skeleton patrolling the cemetery at Warakiya Village, but after a first defeat, Dracula granted the Knight another chance and dubbed him 'Skull Knight King'. Dracula also gave this creature the power to toss bones at his striking attackers. With every hit, a generic bone would replicate from the body and hone in on Trevor. The Skull Knight was defeated again. After this second and final defeat, Dracula cast aside this Evil, never to be used again as Ultimate Evil Material, downgrading it to enemy status. Nasty Grant So Grant DaNasty's family was killed by Dracula and Grant was turned into a monster sentenced to Clock Tower guard. As the Ultimate Evil of the Clock Tower of Untimely Death, Nasty Grant will leap at you and toss his dagger. He'll also climb the walls to the ceiling in order to drop axes on you. Take care on this one, it's a large and agile target. The quickest and most unfair way to uncurse this foe is to come in with the Holy Water and Triple threat in your possession. Holy Water is most effective on most ground touching beasts. This one would count as most. Nasty Grant is on his platform at the other side of the room, left of your screen. Walk right up to him before the Boss Fight tune commences. You should be on the platform in front of him, facing him. Now toss your Holy Water like there's no yesterday! That was easy. Too easy. Gain Grant as an ally after this. Big Bad Phantom BatPhantom Bats are easily identified by their large ears and cool smiles! : D They come in many sizes and forms, such as the infamous Phantom Bat of CastleVania, the Myotia in Dracula X, and Zaps...er... Zapf bat in Super CastleVania. This one in particular will divide itself with every hit, something like Myotia in Drac X. This is without a doubt the EASIEST Ultimate Evil in the WHOLE GAME! All ya gots ta do is this. Let him come close to you, hit him once. Count two or three flashes. When he splits, hit him again. Count again, and hit him again. Repeat. There are two BBPB's in the CastleVania terror-tory. One is in the lower depths of the Murky Marsh of Morbid Morons and another at the Abandoned Mines at Curse Castle. AlucardThe story of Alucard is quite...a story. It goes back way back when, during Sonia Belmont's era. As I understand it, Al was just realizing that Count Dracula was a bad dude. During his escape from CastleVania, he had an encounter with Sonia. Sonia, thinking Alucard too was evil, set it off. After a while, Sonia realized that Alucard's purpose was equal to hers, and they teamed up. In Dracula's Curse, Trevor and/or Ally will face Alucard in his secret hideaway. When you first see him, a flurry of strange bats will flap out of the coffin. As you will see, Al attacks just like his father will in 100 years (CastleVania 1). When his cape opens, avoid or destroy the flames, which shoot out, and go for the head. You should have your Banshee Boomerang ready for this fight. After the fight, Alucard explains how he needs your help to destroy Dracula, and you can team up with him. Snakeman SentinelProtector of Queen Medusa, and guard to the second half of the Haunted Ship of Fools, is the Snake Man Sentinel. He forms from a swarm of large snakes and attacks with snake arrows and a cold stare...which will...freeze you. The more you hit him, the closer he will creep, until he's running all over the room. Be really careful on this one. With Grant, drop axes from above. Trevor should bomb him with Holy Water. Sypha should make toast with the Flame Spell. Alucard can think of a better weapon besides Balls of Destruction. While you're still reading this...in that Sailor Moon episode "Cruise Blues" that Jadeite kid mentions "Ship of Fools"! Must've been a CastleVania III fanatic too! Way to go Jed! :) You loser! >) Bone Dragon KingInstruction Manual Illustration!!! Dracula found a pile of dinosaur bones and gave it life. He made the Dragon Skull Cannons with em, he made the Bone Dragons with 'em. This horrid monstrosity is the King! Meet Ultimate Evil Bone Dragon King! 30 feet of Tyrannosaurus Rex parts! You fight this Evil in the Sunken Temples of Sarnath. Since this Evil can't shoot fireballs as his minions, the King flies about his room, getting close to take a bite (he hasn't eaten in 65,000,000,000,000,000,000 years, you know). This Evil has an unusual quirk just as the Skull Knight King. Whenever Trevor hits him on the cranium, a section of his tail drops off and out of the scene. After a fierce first round, and loss of most of his tail/backbone, the King retreated to higher ground, as Trevor escaped from the rising waters, which were flooding the temple. After a small brawl with some Fish Men and Bats, Trevor reached a dead end. Then suddenly, the King burst from the wall behind him! The battle raged on, and Trevor emerged, victorious once again. Afterward, Dracula realized the cowardice of the Bone Dragon King and he banished him to the Limbo of the Spirits (a place cool looking Ultimate Evils go when they are banished to the Limbo of...D-OH!). Anyway, we never saw him again as an Ultimate Evil. How humiliating to have Mole Man ride atop him later on. But hey, once you kill the Mole Man, the Bone Dragon King, labeled Oroborous, will be a temporary friend! Dr. Frankenstein's Monster The mad scientist Dr. Frankenstein constructed a giant monster out of old and many body parts. The unseen doctor made two of them, then hid one in the castle basement, and another on the Tower of Terror. Full of (life) energy, he marches behind you and he then stomps the floor, creating a rain of blocks to fall on your head! From time to time, he'll even throw a block himself. Destroy this Ultimate Evil by repeat hits, stabs, whacks, or Balls of Destruction. If you've got your Triple Shot up Holy Water, excellent for most kinds of land touching monsters, use it! He'll be begging on his knees in no time flat! In the later forms of this living corpse, we see a tiny Mole Man/hunchback at his side, tossing fire shots, a scientific side to the guy, where he tosses his own Unholy Waters, a biomechanical Creature with a hammer, and finally, he has his own little, cheap, bootlegged, whip! Twin Dragons This double detriment can be found just after traversing the Moat Bridge of Peril. They'll pop up without warning, sort of. Once the screen sops scrolling they'll attack. They'll burst from the water below and immediately blast you with a flame tongue, like Sypha's. The Nintendo Power magazine's review of Dracula's Curse (how I miss that issue! I'll never bring anything of value to school again!), said that there is a pattern to these two. I wouldn't believe it. It would be best to come in with the Dagger or Battle-Axe, as these two weapons have long range. When you see them, try to duck the flames and concentrate on one. Once that one dies, and its neck segments drop into the water, one by one, attack the next. Try not to let it catch you in a situation where one hit will hurtle you into the water. Fight bravely, and you will succeed, your next Evil targets the three below. In later occurrences, Twin Dragons appear as Orphic Vipers with two flame types, spin-off a dumb sea monster, and finally spin-off the appearance of Scylla in Symphony. Flame of Ambition The Terror Trio consists of the following Ultimate Evils: MUMMY BROTHERS: There are
several pairs of these Mummies throughout the Outskirts of CastleVania
(plug). One pair is found on the Ship of Fools, another in the Underground
Tunnels. Revived by the mysterious Flame of Ambition (of which there are
three), the Double Trouble trudges onto the scene, with wrappings flying
off in a wave pattern, always a hit fest. Holy Water destroys, actually
breaks, these easily. Akmodan II succeeds them several times in the future. Grim Reaper and Puweyxil The Grim Reaper is truly one of Dracula's elite guards. He's in almost every CastleVania game. His form and wardrobe may change a bit, but the attack is quite similar. He summons his sickles out of nowhere, and they head straight for you! You must be cautious if you don't want to be added to his bushel of bones. Whip every sickle that gets in your way, and use the Holy Water to save the day (hey it rhymes)! But wait! The Grim Reaper is gone (for now), but look out behind you, Trevor! It's the Puweyxil, A GIANT skull with a grim smile! He flies circles around the room, laughing at you. Don't ignore this laughter, 'cause with every chuckle, he spits out a suckle...um, sickle. Not too difficult of an Ultimate Evil this Puweyxil is, so use the Holy Water when he gets close to the ground (Banshee Boomerangs have no effect!) and win again. For getting the job done, use Trevor. For a bit more of a challenge, use Grant. If you like to shoot stuff repeatedly, use Alucard, and if you want to see Sypha's excellent Lightning Ball Spell in action, use her. The Mimicker Slime Man vs. Nature. Man vs. Man. Man vs. Himself. These are three prominent themes in literature. The literati love this kind of stuff. Okay. English class dismissed. Before you face the Lord of the Vampire, you must confront yourself in this Leader Slime, the Mimicker, or...Doppelganger. Now, this one tends to be the most difficult boss of all in Dracula's Curse! It's like, when you're Trevor, the slime becomes Trevor and hurls Banshee Boomerangs at you, regardless of what weapon, if any, you have. As Sypha, the slime will use the Staff and Flame spell. As Grant, it uses the Battle-Axe of hurling. As Alucard, it will use his sad 3 way diamond pellet attack. So here's how to beat 'em. You'll have to come in with the Holy Water and Triple Threat. That'll put 'em away fast. Now once the Leader Slime pops up, use your Holy Water. That was easy. Too easy. With no weapons, you would have to repeatedly switch between characters and get in a hit as the Doppelganger develops. If you only have Trevor, best of luck to you and yours. It can be done. After the Curse, let's just say there are two of Alucard's brothers in there. *Not even I can confirm that the Trevor, Sypha, and Grant Fakes of SotN are other Doppelgangers. Send me your arguments.
