Have you ever wondered what things would be like if CastleVania characters crossed over into the real world? Willow Weedwacker did, and followed up the example set in my X-Mas 1999 picture with his CastleVania Invasion. In early April, 2001, I was experimenting with some photos of New York I found around the WorldWide, along with CastleVania sprites. These are the results. However, since I couldn't find any place on DCTP for them, I 'rejected' them. Luckily, because they were so well received
at the CastleVania Dungeon's message boards a month later, I decided to
post them in the Groovy-Type Stuff section, thus saving them from the This limited series has been entitled........................................ |
Stage 1: Slogra walks by some confused bystanders. The first experiment. Works because of the dumbfounded looks on everyone's faces. Stage 2: The second experiment. That good ol' Blue Gargoyle Bat and some of CV3's cast are lost in Central Park. Nothing special, really... Stage 3: I get alot of requests for this one, Slogra lost in Central Park at dusk, even though it's not my favorite. Watch out! I typed in the word HELL!!! Cover your ears! (Reason 1 these were originally 'rejected'.) Stage 4: This is THE GEM. It takes place in the affluent Upper East Side of town. How many CV guys can you find? (P.S. My monitor calibration was set as Macintosh; the shadows will look best if your monitor's brightness and contrast are adjusted. You're supposed to see a liiiitle bit of the crosswalk under Drac's shadow, etc. Stage 5: Underdeveloped. Along with the Blue Gargoyle Bat and Mole Man, SotN Drac hangs out near Central Park's Cedar Hill. Stage 6: Rondo Dracula harasses sunbathers in Central Park's Great Lawn. Beautifully illustrates the New Yorker stereotype. And that's when I retired "I love CV NY". Maybe I'll go back to it. Who knows. And if want to contribute to the saga, send me your own works, and we'll continue to document the CastleVania Invasion of our world. Furthermore, check out Joey V's section to see how Puerto Rico fared! Who knows...if the push is strong enough, maybe I can make "I love CV NY" a front section of the site! A good site for photos of my home city, New York City! NYCfoto.com. |
