Halloween 4 U
CastleVania fans are out and about on October 31st,
however, only a select few let their CV heritage show in their Halloween
guises. Here are the stories of those who've done so! How about you? Tell
me about it! {I'll be coming in with the pointy brackets to offer
my comments.}
If you're just tuning in: In 1991, I went to a friend's
party as the Grim Reaper from CastleVania 1. In 1995, during my Super
NES Dracula X craze, I was fully equipped as the latest Belmont to hit
mainland shores, Richter. In 1996, I was the Alien from the trilogy (...not
exactly a CV character, though it's made numerous Konami appearances).
In 1997, I was the Skull Knight from CastleVania III! (Too bad the getup
wasn't so great...)
Jason Gaines was a
Grim Reaper, as you can see killing (E)Richter Belmont above in 1995.
Chris Rasa's
CastleVania Adventure!
"I was reading about the costume section in the miscellaneous section
and thought you'd want to know, I was the Grim Reaper two years ago {1997}
...pretty cool... But last year {1998}, a friend and I (who naturally
looks like Richter) were Richter and Simon for Halloween! We asked people
for Drac's body parts instead of candy but it didn't work... Fortunately,
I bought one of those small toy hearts, an eye, and a rib beforehand.
My costume included a real leather whip AND an actual morning star that
I made myself and it's more than capable of beating the snot out of someone
with. We also had ourselves stocked with as much stuff as possible: garlic,
stakes, holy water, a dagger, and an axe... I'm trying to find a picture
of us to send you... We would go to houses, ask for body parts, start
a conversation with the house's owners, then get into arguments over which
of us was the best vampire killer! We then went to a local mall, went
to some goths (the kind that thinks Vampire: The Masquerade is real),
and scared them away, getting us attention from people who were glad such
an element was gone from their mall. After that, we realized that it is
our destiny to become vampire hunters." {He also said that his friend
and his others are starting a band called the Belmonts. He isn't officially
in yet. Now this CV journey rates highly on my list...especially since
it's the only real one on it! Ha! Anyway, keep, rather, START sending
your 10-31's in!}
On 10-17-2000, Alex
Stripling says:
"I was an awesome Grim Reaper type dude for 1999........... Thas
right. I was Death himself! I took an old black robe, tattered it with
a knife and my bare hands (Mwe he he he), bought one of those HUGE packages
of ketchup that look like cow hearts from McDonalds (Try it sometime)
and poked a hole in it so it would bleed. I took a bent branch and a kiddie
toy Katana sword blade, taped it onto the branch, and taped up the opposite
end and scared the $*|t out 'o people. I rang the doorbell on some school
bully's house and left the Ketchup pack there. A few seconds later (After
I had concealed myself) there was a loud ear-peircing scream. THATS what
Halloween is about. Later I found a dude dressed as Cound Drac from Symphony
and we spent the entire night scarin' folks. I later beat the $*|t out
of some dude dressed as John Morris and scared off Eric Lecarde by bashing
'Nny in the stomach, kicking him in the *ic*, and slashing his costume
with my sharpened plastic scythe blade........Anyway, my name is Alex
Stripling and I personnally think Slogra and Death are the two best CV
characters EVER.???????????????????? Oh, my E-Mail address I will get
to you LATER"
{Dang! Well done!}
For Halloween of 1999, John Baxter (from John+Audra's
CV Page, THE SITE for the Vampire Killer) hit the town Belmont-style! In
honor of his recent screen debut, his good pal Matt donned the garbs of
Darth Maul! John sent in some pics of how it went down...
D'oh! Better luck next life!
