In the spring of 1997, I built myself a cute little web page on AOL using Personal Publisher. That August, I went to Puerto Rico for two weeks. In addition to filming a pretty sweet movie (Jurassic Park 7: Lost in Puerto Rico) during the visit, I'd made a list of a few things I wanted to add to my fledgling CVIII site. Among these was the Hall of Blame; a 'Cool Character of the Week' page detached from its original home at the bottom of WANTED... ...and an assorted section headed by the clever quip, "The Misc. Things". Born a one-page rundown with segments split by Header breaks, its features had transcended CastleVania faire by early 2001. Thus, I would decide to rechristen this Miscellaneous Mix of a section as "Miscmix". Basically, this thing right here is a MEGAMIX of Miscellaneous DCTP heartiness. Some of it relates to CV, some of it regards a couple other notable games, and the rest just happened along the way. October 27, 2001, brought more order to the tower of articles by corralling them into their respective themes. So! How exactly does one go about pronouncing yet another of my words? FROM THE FOLK WHO BROUGHT YOU DreamCastleVania, CircleVania AND MetroidVania, SAY "missmicks" AND GOOOOOOOO...! (Oh, I got a MILLION OF 'EM!!!) |
Get into the Mix. The Miscmix.
CastleVania Misc.
- Videogame Misc. - Irrelevant (?)
These sections most likely have a lot to
do with anything pertinent to CastleVania...
Journey Back to 1991 and the Bronxylvanian cityside of New York... ...in one of the neatest features of the site, I think! |

Confessions
of a CastleVania Freak
This is one of many supportive e-mails I discovered in my box the evening I returned from my 1997 Puerto Rico visit. ^_^ |

Modern
Nightmare!
Back in like, week seven of CVIIIDCTP, I made a request for a CastleVania that takes place in 1997. Once I got back from Puerto Rico, I discovered the beginnings of this in my AOL mailbox. |

When you're in the 5th grade, writing a paragraph seems insurmountable. Read through a few brief testimonies of a budding CastleVania career. Now redesigned with doodle scans! |

When Kurt Kalata needed the instructions to CastleVania II: Belmont's Revenge typed up for The CastleVania Dungeon, I typed up the instructions to the BEST Game Boy game ever. The TRUE CastleVania 2, in my opinion... |
|
Groovy-Type
Stuff!
This frightfully large chunk of CastleVanian coolness began in early October of 1997, when Kurt Kalata sent me an e-mail by the same name, explaining the name quirks of a few Super CastleVania masters. Along with a host of other readers, I've been finding even more strange things ever since. Here's the real reason why 'The Misc.Things' was broken up into individual sections... |

Check out the newest issues of Groovy-Type Stuff, from now onwards at Omoshiroi! |

Joey's

Symphony of the Night is a complete cashay...cache of very Groovy-Typeness. Presenting Joey V, who's really done his homework with one of the most comprehensive Groovy-Typeness compendiums I've ever seen on SotN, and then some. Check out some of his cool pictures, too! |

Take an extremely sloppy look at the CastleVania-ish "Night of the Living Dead" board of Parodius Da! |

Late one night, early one morning, I realized that I could actually read the Japanese names of the voice actors and actresses whose talents reinforced the quality of Dracula X: Nocturne in the Moonlight... |

All those snappy sayings and clever quips from DCTP upgrades are archived here for your consideration in an ever-growing text file. Time for a brain massage. |

The CastleVania InVasion began with Willow_Weedwacker in a remote, unidentified location, and it continued with me, documenting its progress in my home town, New York City. Take a look at these really cool Photoshop-enhanced pictures of a time gone by in a then-innocent city of New York... |

The whole story about one of the greatest forces The CastleVania WorldWide has ever known...or ever will. |
You've gotta love those games. Anything

Contra:
INSANELY DIFFICULT CORPS
Thunder Force III's aside, Contra Hard Corps was a game which definitely represented my 1998 summer after its emulated appearance a year prior. I recorded several of my amusing Contra Hard Corps battles. Check them all out here in the spinoff of Battles Barely Perfect! "It's payback time!" |

Dotcom Presents: The Dragon Power File!
The stupidities of an old NES game named Dragon Power have what it takes to blow the terrible shooter Zero Wing outta the water. This special two-part DCTP feature brings forth some pretty solid evidence of that! In this incredible-storied game, learn all about Goku's Power Food and his exploding friends going on an exciting adventure thousands of miles away from the city. In the mountains. |

E.V.O.
Written sleeplessly in the wee hours of a summer morning, a fine review of the unique and highly underrated Enix masterpiece in which you play the part of a little shnips that would change the world... I've already conceptualized a sequel that would be nice to see... |

Some investigative reporting on what has GOT to be the greatest fighter of the 2001-2002 era, and possibly ever. Starring Josh "Funk DOC" Ballard and Eric Roman. |
Ideally, nothing here has anything
to do with
CastleVania or the site as a whole. Or does it...?
I'm your host, after all...!

C A S T L E V A N I A : PUERTO RICO X [May 30, 1999 to June 12, 1999!] This is worth a once-over. It isn't as major as I'd rather have it, but anyway, find out a little bit about how the subsequent 1999 vacation turned out. |

Learn little about dinosaurs in this intruiging retrospective...before The CastleVania Dungeon, the phrase 'Eric Roman' appeared elsewhere a few times...on The Dino Times, that is! |

WARNING! The following entertaining downloads have as much to do with CastleVania as Bubble Man has to do with dishwashers. Wait a minute...that makes some sense. Bad analogy. |
